Imagine you are hitching a ride with Huck and Jim. Write a paragraph describing the setting and the atmosphere of what it is like to be with these two runaways.
I’ve always wanted to go down the Mississippi River. I have heard many things about it from mother and father when they were alive. They always said I should experience it myself.
I was finally able to travel down Mississippi river, as the opportunity came about when I met these two funny characters; Huckleberry Finn and a slave named Jim. They were runaways, running away from different things and when the opportunity comes up… well you just gotta take it.
We travelled down the river and what can I say? It was exactly what my Mother and Father had described it. It was peaceful, full of natural beauty. The trees and the groves along the sides of the river are just full of life. I would love to just live in the wild along this river. The water is crystal clear. It glistened during the day, blinding me if I had looked for a second. It was beautiful, I could barely take my eyes off what was in front of me… It made me forget all the troubles I was going through with My parent’s death.. Just seeing this and matching their descriptions made me …. happy.
The two characters I was travelling with were like opposites attract. We had Huck, a young boy who was more like a Joker. He would play tricks on the other, which would just show his innocence in a way. Jim on the other hand, was more serious. He saw the goal that lied ahead and wanted to just go for it. He was more inspiring in a way and I actually hope that Huck learns from Jim, more like a role model. When these two opposites clash together… Oh, what a sight it is! At times it made me laugh, at other times it made me cry, and other times again.. it would make me mad at one of them. What can I say? They were the best companions to travel with.
I really wished Mother and Father were alive.. so then one day we could’ve travelled down Mississippi River together.. I guess we can do that soon when I have reunited with them once again…..
